Vets reviewHi guys - here we just take a quick look at the Vets League as we approach the run in. With only five games to go it's a good time to see just who is in with a chance of honours and who on the other hand is in a relegation battle.
Naturally I am very pleased to be saying that my team, Norbreck are top of the pile and on course for consecutive Vets titles. With a 12 point lead at the top it is now looking like a very tough job for any one to catch them. They have the best record in any of the Leagues, only losing 4 games all season. This week saw them take on their closest rivals The Club and beat them 5-2. Whilst Norbreck have continued to grind out wins each week the other teams in the title race have fallen by the wayside. The Club were very close at one stage but a recent bad run of form has left them with too big a gap to close. Clev Mens A, another team who were very close too at one stage, are a point behind them in 3rd place. They too have had a spell of mixed results that has seen them drop off the pace. In 4th place and 3 points further back, Park Club A are another team who looked unbeatable before Xmas and then had a bad run of results. All these four teams and also Legion are in the mix for the prize places so there is still a lot to play for here. |
